Thousands attend State Government's Aidilfitri Open House

KOTA KINABALU: Thousands of visitors from all walks of life attended the State Government's Open House for Aidilfitri 2025 (1446 H) at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Saturday.
Among the honoured guests present was the Governor, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr) Musa Haji Aman and his wife, Toh Puan Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Hajah Faridah Haji Tussin.
The event, which was also attended by the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor and his wife, Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Hajah Juliah Salag, included the presentation of contributions to the elderly, persons with disabilities, and those in need from nine charitable institutions in the western coastal region.
In his speech during the friendly interaction with visitors, Hajiji urged people from diverse backgrounds to use the celebration of Aidilfitri as a platform to further strengthen unity and understanding among communities.
Also present were the Speaker of the Sabah State Assembly, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Kadzim Haji M. Yahya, Deputy Chief Ministers Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Jeffrey G. Kitingan, Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Joachim Gunsalam, and Datuk Ir. Shahelmey Yahya, as well as various state cabinet ministers.
The Open House for Aidilfitri 2025, attended by approximately 20,000 visitors, was enlivened by dance performances and singing.
Guests were treated to a variety of festive dishes, including traditional lemang, ketupat, and satay, as well as a wide assortment of kuih-muih (local delicacies).
