Tun Musa is officially Sabah Head of State

KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty the King, Sultan Ibrahim, today graciously bestowed the Letter of Appointment to Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman as the new Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah (Governor), effective January 1, 2025.
The ceremony took place in the Small Throne Room at the National Palace and was witnessed by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Anwar Ibrahim, and the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor.
Also present were two Deputy Prime Ministers, Dato' Sri Fadillah Yusof, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedick, Minister of Domestic Trade and Living Costs, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, Speaker of the Sabah State Assembly, Datuk Seri Panglima Kadzim M.Yahya, State Secretary of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Sr. Safar Untong, and the State Attorney General, Datuk Brenndon Keith Soh.
Immediately following the Letter of Appointment ceremony, Tun Musa also received the prestigious title of Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara (S.M.N), which grants him the title of Tun.
Tun Musa, 73, is the former Chief Minister of Sabah, succeeding Tun Haji Juhar Mahiruddin, whose term will end on December 31 after holding the position since 2011, making him the longest-serving TYT to date.
Tun Musa has previously served as a Member of the State Assemblymanfor Sungai Sibuga.
Tun Musa is scheduled to officiate the Oath of Office Ceremony as the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah and sign the Oath of Office Letter at the Seri Kinabalu Palace Hall in Kota Kinabalu on January 1, 2025.
