KOTA KINABALU: Kampung Pagalungan Ansip, Keningau and Kampung Kalindukan, Nabawan will undergo the 14-day enhanced movement control order (EMCO) starting Monday.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said the EMCO is implemented in two of the localities so that the Ministry of Health (MoH) can conduct targeted Covid-19 screening on all residents while also curbing the spread of the virus.

In Kampung Pagalungan Ansip, Keningau, a total of 15 individuals out of 146 screened tested positive for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, 99 individuals have been screened in Kampung Kalindukan, Nabawan where eight of them tested positive for the virus.

"The implementation was agreed by the State Government with the advice of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and after a joint risk assessment with various agencies in the MCO Technical Committee was conducted," said Masidi in his statement on Sunday.
