KOTA KINABALU: The Board of Directors and Board of Governors of University College Yayasan Sabah (UCSF) paid a courtesy call to the Head of State Tun Musa Aman at Istana Negeri Seri Kinabalu today.


During the event Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uni YS Sdn. Bhd. and Chairman of the UCSF Governing Board, Datuk Dr. Mohd Yaakub Johari shared that strategies have been outlined to develop UCSF into a sustainable private university that can serve as a catalyst for development in Sabah and Southeast Asia in the long term.


UCSF was established 10 years ago, in 2014, during the tenure of Tun Musa as the Chief Minister of Sabah, who also served as the Chairman of Yayasan Sabah.


Yaakub also provided a brief update on UCSF’s current development and future direction that included among others the establishment of the Centre for Development Studies, a proposal to establish the Tun Musa Aman Academic Chair on Nation Building and Policy Studies and plans to establish new faculties, including Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Maritime Studies and Faculty of Computer Science.


“With the appointment of His Excellency Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr) Haji Musa Haji Aman, we hope that Sabah will continue to prosper, and that UCSF can play an even greater role in the development of the state and the region,” he said.


Among the USCF entourage were Datuk Seri Panglima Clarence Bongkos Malakun, Datuk Sam Mannan, Datuk Asnimar Sukardi, Izharudin Jalaludin and Jeriol @ Douglas Joinol.


USCF had extended their heartfelt congratulations on the appointment of Tuan Yang Terutama , Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Musa Aman as Sabah Governor at the beginning of the year.
