UCSF convocation a brilliant affair

KOTA KINABALU : The 3rd Convocation Ceremony of Universiti College Sabah Foundation (UCSF) in 2024, held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) last Saturday, created its own colorful and festive history.
More than 500 guests attended the ceremony, comprising graduates and their parents, UCSF lecturers, staff, and invited guests.
The Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, who is also the Chancellor of UCSF, presented certificates to the graduates.
Apart from the career advancements of the graduates, some candidates who completed their studies last year have gone on to pursue postgraduate studies at the University of Malaya, and some have completed their studies this year.
This year marks a double celebration for Nurnabilah Berhaman (B.A. (Hons) Development Studies with Media Communication) who recently graduated and will be attending another convocation ceremony later this year.
Furthermore, there are three siblings who celebrated their convocation together as each of them completed their studies at UCSF in the same convocation. The three siblings are Marina Yusop (Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management), Siti Alfaiza Yusop (Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management), and Azmi Yusop (Bachelor of Accounting).
In addition, two siblings who graduated together are Daniel Deawod Chin (Bachelor in Hospitality and Tourism Management) and Isabella May Chin (Diploma in Visual Arts).
Meanwhile, there were also three sets of identical twins who graduated at the ceremony. They are the twin siblings Putre Bayitoh and Putre Bayiwata Samdin who completed their studies in Diploma in Animation, Alicia Chan Xue Jing and Alison Chan Xue Wen who completed their studies in Diploma in Visual Arts and Design, while Arvinder Kaur A/P Narwant Singh and Salvinder Kaur A/P Narwant Singh completed their Bachelor's degree studies in Business Administration.
Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor of UCSF, Dr. Rafiq Idris, when approached, said that UCSF graduates remain very active even after completing their studies.
"Some of them were involved in the University Social Responsibility (USR) activities two weeks ago. Congratulations to Natasha, Marina, Kalvin, Alisha, Salsila, and many other friends who are very committed to community service activities," he said.
