KOTA KINABALU: The University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF) is committed to celebrating and emphasizing the importance of mutual respect for the diverse differences that exist within the country by honoring various festivals.
UCSF's Vice Chancellor, Datuk Dr. Rafiq Idris, remarked that the people of Malaysia have recently celebrated the new year 2025, as well as the Chinese New Year (CNY).
"This showcases the uniqueness and richness of Sabah's multicultural community, which comes together to celebrate a variety of ethnic festivals," he said during the UCSF 2025 CNY Celebration held in the campus lobby in Sembulan.
He stressed that understanding, unity, culture, and traditions inherited from our ancestors must be preserved by future generations for a peaceful, harmonious life.
Datuk Dr Rafiq also added that his team will continue to strive to ensure that UCSF remains progressive and dynamic, offering a variety of attractive educational options in Sabah as a complement to other institutions.
"I invite young people who have not yet decided to continue their studies to visit UCSF and explore the courses offered. The February 2025 intake is still open for a few more weeks," he stated.
He hopes that in this Year of the Snake, the university will continue to rise and give its best.
The UCSF CNY celebration was attended by over 200 members of the university community, including En Douglas Joinol, a board member. The event was enlivened with the "Yee Sang" tossing ceremony, lion and dragon dance performances, and a feast.
