PENAMPANG: After a prolonged period of inactivity, the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) Tuavon branch has been revitalised with a newfound spirit, officially reactivating today in a brief yet meaningful ceremony in the Penampang Utara area.
The reactivation of this branch has been spearheaded by the District Electoral Officer for SK Kibabaig, Chelton Anam, who has played a pivotal role in reuniting grassroots strength in the Tuavon area. His efforts have borne fruit, as 30 new members submitted their UPKO membership forms, led by Godfrey Johniu, who has now been appointed as the Head of the UPKO Tuavon branch.
The official launch of the branch was officiated by Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin, the Head of UPKO Penampang Division and Deputy President of UPKO Central. In his speech, he emphasised that reactivating party branches at the grassroots level is one of UPKO's priorities in navigating the current political landscape in Sabah.

“UPKO is not just a political party; we are the voice of the people, particularly those in rural areas. The presence of young individuals and new leaders in Tuavon signifies that our struggle remains relevant and necessary,” he stated.
Also present at the event were Bryan M. Lojingon, the Parliamentary Liaison Officer for Penampang, Alvin Lee, Director of Election Machinery for N26 Moyog, as well as several Committee Members from the UPKO Penampang Division, who came to show their moral support and commitment to the new leadership in Tuavon.
The attendance of these leaders clearly demonstrates UPKO's strong support and serious dedication to strengthening its presence in each area, especially in the lead-up to the upcoming Sabah State Election. The UPKO Tuavon branch is expected to play a vital role in mobilising the party's machinery and conveying the aspirations of the people in the Penampang Utara area.
With the active involvement of young leaders and new blood, UPKO continues to stand out as a progressive, inclusive party committed to championing the rights of the people of Sabah within the framework of Malaysia Madani.
